The Universe, Hot Flashes, and a Thermostat

So we’re moving.

I know how much everyone loves this Main Street space. I love it too.

On May 28th I got a letter in my mailbox letting me know the building is being sold. I’m not going to pretend I handled it gracefully. I called my sister and let myself feel everything I needed to feel for about four hours. And then I switched into boss mode and started making calls.

By May 30th I was touring spaces. By June 2nd I put my deposit down. And signed the lease a couple weeks later.

But here’s the part that made me laugh.

Back in February my neck was in bad shape and I had been eyeing this exact building in Livonia. I watched them building it out and seriously considered making the move. My physical therapist fixed my neck, I had a hot flash, and I decided that having control over the thermostat was more important than relocating my entire business. So I let it go.

The universe gave me the option to make this my choice. The hot flashes won, and made the choice for me.

And when I was sitting there signing my lease, the building manager casually pointed at my room and said “oh look what they put in yours.” A thermostat. On the wall. In my room.

Good lookin’ out, universe.

The Hair Code is moving to a Sola Salon Studio in Livonia. I’ll be on the second floor, there is an elevator, and I am so excited about this space. No more playing cruise director every time someone wanders in looking for a different business. It’s more private. And for those of you who like to stack your errands... within a mile there’s a Kroger, Trader Joe’s, Target, Costco, Nino Salvaggio, and Meijer. You’re welcome.

Here’s what I need you to know - what’s changing is the address.

What’s not changing is me. How I show up for you. The experience. The energy. What you feel when you walk through my door. All of that comes with me. That’s not attached to a building. That’s mine.

The space is still being finished and I cannot wait to make it feel like home. I’ll begin taking clients there the first week of September and I’ll be sharing more as it all comes together.

If you have questions, you know how to reach me!
